Autism Treatment ? Hyperkeratosis Pilaris and Autism

I have seen many children over the years in my practice who have something that is called Hyperkeratosis Pilaris. You can describe Hyperkeratosis Pilaris as bumpy skin often called “chicken skin” that is found on the back of the arms, on the cheeks or even on the upper thighs. One thought is that this is caused by an accumulation of skins cells in those particular areas and may also be due to heredity. One thing that seems to work well to treat this issue is to get what is called a buff puff pad and to run the areas that are affected by the bumps. Another theory as to the cause of Hyperkeratosis Pilaris is that it has to do with low thyroid function and the inability to convert beta carotene into vitamin A.

Effective Autism Treatment – My Autism Support

Autism is a life-long condition characterized by impairment in three areas: communication, social interaction, and behavior. Infants and toddlers with Autism may display the following symptoms: doesn’t make eye contact, doesn’t smile when smiled at, doesn’t follow objects visually, doesn’t respond when cuddling, doesn’t respond to his or her own name or to the sound of a familiar voice, doesn’t make noises to get your attention, doesn’t imitate your movements and facial expressions, doesn’t reach out to be picked up, and doesn’t play with other people or share interest and enjoyment.  In 2007, a report released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that Autism affects 1 in 150 children to varying degrees. What, then, is the most effective autism treatment?

Well, the treatment for Autism depends on the individual needs of the patient.

Autism Treatment Stopping Biomedical Treatments And Autism

In regards to starting and stopping biomedical therapies, I would like to talk about that for a little bit. I often am asked the question “If my child is taking B12, or my child is on Diflucan or my child is on Nystatin, or my child is taking various supplements, can I stop these therapies at once or should I be weaning them off of these things?”. My answer, I believe, applies to many of the biomedical therapies that are used and if you are not seeing any further improvements or the initial benefits you saw when you first started a therapy, you could be hitting a plateau. At that point, and certainly you would want to check with your own doctor on this as well, it is my experience that stopping these therapies would not result in any ill effects.

Exploring Autism Treatment

One of the impediments to autism treatment is the fact that most people truly do not understand what the condition of autism is. Many people still prescribe to old, antiquated notions that autism can be “grown out of” or “fixed with the proper diet.” In reality, such superficial assessment of the condition is not helpful. The child that suffers from autism truly needs a modern and reliable treatment method that can help restore proper harmony and balance to the child’s life.

Yes, autism treatment is possible if one understands what constitutes the right treatment and how to acquire it.

Autism Treatment ? Supplement Reactions During Autism Treatment

In this video I will follow up the talk I did about supplement reactions and regressions. When you have a group of new supplements to add, some may be capsules, some may be liquid suspensions and some may be chewables. As I have mentioned before, I don’t suggest introducing them all in the same day. But other than that, there really is no rule on which supplement to start first, or second or third, etc. If you are working with a doctor, they may have ideas on what they want you to start with. But, if you are ordering supplements on your own, you can just start at the top of your list and work down, adding the next supplement on the list. Just start slow, wait 2 to 3 days between each new supplement and track what supplements you are give and what behaviors you are noticing.

Autism Treatment ? Using Probiotics in Autism Treatment

Let’s talk about the different probiotics with respects to the difference between what are considered treatment specific probiotics and those that are more general probiotics. There are many varieties of probiotic products available right now on the market. Some examples of good multi-floral probiotics are Probiotic Support Formula from New Beginnings, Multi-Flora Spectrum from Kirkman and Therbiotic Complete by Klaire Labs. There are various other good multi-floral probiotics on the market with a number of good bacteria in them but these are three. And the way that I try and explain the role of these types of probiotics for your health is very much like a multi-vitamin but for your digestive systems. So products like Probiotic Support Formula, Multi-Flora Spectrum and Therbiotic Complete all aid in the health overall of the digestive tract.
